Maryborough’s rising star Keely Hare is trialing for the 19-and-under team after an impressive showing at the association championships in Melbourne during June.
A trio of her teammates from the BFNL under-17 team, Sandhurst’s Ruby Turner and Sophie Shoebridge and Kangaroo Flat’s Bree Heiden, have been selected in an extended 50-player 17-and-under squad.
They are joined by Kangaroo Flat A-grade star and VNL 19-and-under premiership player Ruby Barkmeyer.
Turner was one of the stars of Sandhurst’s 17-and-under premiership win this season.
The squads will be trimmed to 25 players after the next selection tryouts on November 5 at the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
Teams will be finalised after the third of three further trainings on November 12 and 26 and December 3.
