Amy Davies and Kathryn Gilmore will share the duties for a Storm team looking to return to the BFNL finals for the first time since 2015.
The Storm finished last season in sixth place under coach Aleisha Langdon, with seven wins, one draw and 10 losses.
Their season highlights included wins over South Bendigo and Maryborough and a draw against finalists Eaglehawk.
Davies, who featured as an A-grade player last season, moves into the top role after a season as the Storm’s 17-and under coach last season.
Storm netball operations netball manager Nic McDermott said Davies possessed a strong depth of netball knowledge and experience, both as a player and a coach.
She will be joined by Gilmore, who has transitioned from the Strathfieldsaye Junior Netball Club and also brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and professionalism.
“Kathryn has also previously coached at Golden Square, as well as BFNL and BSNA squad teams,” McDermott said.
“Both Amy and Kathryn will work closely together to establish playing philosophies that are consistent all the way through to our newly amalgamated junior netball club.
“The club has assembled a group of experienced and committed netball people to support our coaches and players in 2018 and further enhance the netball program, with a focus on providing a professional, inclusive, organised and fun environment for our players to train and compete.”
Davies and Gilmore will also share the A-reserve duties.
In other coaching appointments, Fiona Schubert will move from her role as a division one coach in the Bendigo Strathdale Netball Association to leading the Storm’s 17-and-under side.
Zenda McConnell, who coached the Storm to a 17-and-under grand final in 2016, will lead the junior group.
Expressions of interest for B-grade and B-reserve coaching are still being sought.
The club publicly thanked Langdon for her contributions to the Strathfieldsaye Football Netball Club over the past six seasons and wished her all the very best in the future.
Open grade trials for the Storm will start on Thursday, November 16 (see full dates below).
