An elderly man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman on a city-bound train last week.

The 85-year-old Hughesdale man allegedly assaulted the woman in her 50s on a city-bound Cranbourne line train on Wednesday, October 11.
On Thursday morning, police released photos of the man and urged any witnesses to come forward.
He was arrested and charged with sexual assault hours later.
The alleged attack occurred sometime between 9.05am and 9.25am as the train travelled between Carnegie and Caulfield stations.
The man boarded at Oakleigh station and after the alleged assault got off the train at Richmond station where he caught a City Loop train.
He has been bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on December 8.
