While in Echuca, the Cup will be the centre-piece in a number of exciting activities including a visit to the students of St Mary’s Primary School; a horse and cart parade through town; an official welcome at Port Wharf for the community to enjoy; an afternoon event at Echuca Racecourse for members, staff and the committee; a visit to the residents of Southern Cross Moama Aged Care facility; and to end the evening, a cocktail party hosted by Moama Bowling Club.
Victoria Racing Club chairman Amanda Elliott said the VRC was excited to bring the magic of the Emirates Melbourne Cup to the people of Echuca.
“The Melbourne Cup is an Australian cultural icon and is truly the People’s Cup, so we’re delighted to share it with the people,” she said.
The Cup will visit 31 destinations across both countries.
