Bendigo’s Tayla Vlaeminck was one of the shining lights for the VicSpirit in their round one loss to the ACT in the Women’s National Cricket League.
Making her WNCL debut, Vlaeminck took the new ball for the Vics and claimed 2-34 off seven overs in the day-night game at Manuka Oval on Friday.
Her first wicket was ACT’s South African import Dane van NIekerk for a well-made 63.
Vlaeminck followed up with the wicket of Nicola Hancock for two.
The ACT Meteors were dismissed for 203 off 50 overs.
In reply, the Vics were restricted to 7-173 off 50 overs. Vlaeminck wasn’t required to bat.
The Vics play New South Wales in Sydney on Sunday.
