Hadley looms as one of the key cogs to Australia's hopes of winning the world series in Melbourne at the end of October the tournament dubbed the Twenty20 of netball.

But Sydney Swifts centre Hadley has one eye on a bigger prize as selection battles heat up six months before the Commonwealth Games begin on the Gold Coast.

Hadley made her international debut in 2013 but her hopes of playing at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games were ruined when she ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament.

The 25-year-old injured her knee again this year and missed five weeks of the Super Netball season.

But she the Fast5 gives her a perfect chance to impress Australian selectors even after being left out of the Diamonds' squad for the Constellation Cup.

"It was disappointing being injured for most of the season, but I'm in the [wider Diamonds] squad," Hadley said.

"The opportunity to go to the Commonwealth Games is there, and to get there would be an absolute dream.

"But right now I'm focused on the Fast5 and the stepping stones. It's a long hard process with six months to go.

"Missing the Commonwealth Games four years ago was shattering. I needed a reconstruction and it hit hard when I did my meniscus this year.

"All I wanted to do four years ago was make the Commonwealth Games in 2018. I knew it was going to be a tough ask."

The Australian Fast5 team will finish a three-day camp at the AIS on Friday as one of its final preparations before playing in the world series on October 28-29.

The modified version will increase Hadley's workload in the mid-court with teams reduced to five players for shortened quarters, powerplays and more scoring opportunities.

Australia has called on Diamonds trio Hadley, Gretel Tippett and Tegan Philip to boost the side's chances after losing to New Zealand in the final last year.

There will five Diamonds and four returning players in the Fast5 squad, and Hadley is a veteran of four Fast5 world series.

Coach Stacey Marinkovich, who doubles as the West Coast Super Netball mentor, is preparing her side for matches against New Zealand, England, South Africa, Jamiaca and Malawi.

"[The Fast5] is a way you can really test the girls' athleticism," Marinkovich said.

"That's one of the things Australian players have really got - that physical capacity. When you combine that with good skill execution, I think we have that exciting brand where we can play really fast.

"But we also have the skill to slow it down when you've got opposition teams in powerplays.

"Any time you represent your country is a chance to be seen by national selectors ... this is part of the pathway and a chance to show a bit of flair."
