Our Stories: A brief Social History of Maldon would be a collection of articles about people, places and events connected with the town.
The stories would be generated by research that took place at the museum. The book would be available at the museum and local outlets, according to the grant submission.
The grant was made available out of the state government’s Local History Grants Program. Among the other 52 groups to get grants was the Bendigo’s Hustlers Reef Reserve, which received funding for a heritage trail.
In Charlton, a $1730 grant would go towards signage to help tourists find he historic Bill’s Trough.
Meanwhile, Chillout Daylesford organisers would get $14,200 for an exhibition on their event’s 20th anniversary, while $7500 would be spent on a Daylesford and District Historical Society film exploring contemporary fascination with the disappearance of three local boys in 1867.
