Emergency services were called about 1.20am Friday to the property at Cahills Street and Fifth Avenue, where they found the single-car garage well alight.
Bendigo CFA senior station officer Tim Fitzgerald said the garage contained go-karts, minibikes and welding equipment, as well as other property, all of which were completely destroyed.
A lean-to between the garage and the fence was also lost in the fire, as were the items under it, including a motorcycle.
Mr Fitzgerald said the blaze was so intense it damaged the electrical junction box on the neighbouring house and melted all the lights in its carport.
It took 30 minutes for firefighters to contain the fire.
A CFA investigator will visit the scene on Friday morning to determine the cause of the fire.
