Well, now we have seen it all. Turnbull and Joyce patting themselves on the back for something Federal Governments have caused in the first place. Just how stupid do they think some Australians are?

I think it was James Freeman Clarke who said, "a politician thinks of the next election, a statesman thinks of the next generation’’.
Seriously, if Australia does not come up with a leader who has the guts to stand up to the energy, and other large companies controlling our destiny, then we are going to be in catastrophic trouble, far worse than we are now.
At the moment other countries are benefitting from our minerals to the detriment of all of us.
How can this be, if we had a government even the slightest interested in its own citizens instead of their mates in big business, the ones who have gradually sold our country out from underneath of us then circumstances could only be an improvement on the present day chaos.
In 2014, the BHP petroleum chief executive told journalists that there was plenty of gas available in Bass Strait, that could ably supply Victoria, New South Wales, and possibly even Queensland.
The reason we have shortages is the mining industry has been given the right to take our country's assets and sell them overseas, with total disregard who owns them - us.
Well here is an idea, what about nationalizing the gas industry, supplying Australians initially, and then selling the surplus to others.
Think of the royalties that would flow from that, and how long would it take to pay off the deficit.
But oh no, we can’t have that, it is too sensible and would disadvantage the big players.
If the penny hasn't dropped in the offices of the PM and his sidekick, then here is another idea, renegotiate the ridiculous contracts that benefit nobody else but big business, and mostly overseas owned at that.
If it is not bad enough to have the worlds worst NBN, administered by the way by the present Prime Minister, surely we can turn on the heater or air conditioner without running out of gas, both economically and personally.
This surely is the most ridiculous situation ever encountered during our life time, and if things do not change, well we know what the consequences are going to be.
The lucky country, if you are the energy business, as the rewards are unlimited.
But someone has to pay – guess who?
