The state government awarded the Hustlers Reef Reserve Advisory Committee the grant for a project that would see the erection of panels and signs describing the the local community’s connection with the site.
The reserve once served as a workplace and gathering area for reef gold quartz miners and their families.
It was among 53 community groups sharing in $345,000 in funding through the Local History Grants Program.
