Dashing Giants defender Nathan Wilson has told GWS he wants to be traded away from the club to be closer to family in Perth, on the same day the Swans announced they'd signed Steve Johnson as a forwards coach.

Fremantle is believed to be the club Wilson hopes to join in the trade period, while Devon Smith and Matthew Kennedy also seem keen to seek opportunities elsewhere.
Smith has had a contract offer from the Giants in front of him for several months, while Kennedy has long looked likely to be traded away.
Wilson is the biggest loss though. The backman with the booming leg has easily had his best season this year, and established himself as a key man in the Giants' back six.
The Swans clinched the signing of Johnson as forwards coach just days after his 16-year career came to an end in the Giants' preliminary final loss to Richmond.
Johnson finished his career with two years at the Giants after winning three premierships at Geelong, and becomes the highest profile switch between the two Sydney rivals since ruckman Shane Mumford departed the Swans to join GWS for the 2014 season.
He kicked 516 goals during a stellar career and proved himself a superstar right to the end booting six second-half majors in the knockout semi-final against West Coast to deliver the Giants a second-straight berth in a preliminary final
"Steve brings an impressive playing record and is widely acknowledged as having elite football IQ," Swans head of football Tom Harley said. "Towards the end of his playing days, Steve invested in his coaching career and as such we are very confident that he will transition to become a quality coach.
"Steve and his family are settled in Sydney and we are excited about welcoming them to the Swans."
Sydney's move to sign Johnson is part of a recent bid to strengthen their coaching ranks, after the club's sixth-placed finish this year that led to their elimination from the finals in the second week.
Premiership player Tadhg Kennelly has signed on as a development coach after retiring in 2011, while Jeremy Laidler will take up a similar role following his decision to hang up his boots earlier this week.
Reserves mentor Rhyce Shaw has also been promoted to the senior coaching ranks following his AFL Coaches Association assistant of the year award.
And Nick Davis will take over as the talent and development manager at the Swans academy.
The changes follow the departure of Henry Playfair last week.
