Despite a few possible showers, maximum temperatures are expected to stay above 17 degrees until daylight saving time kicks in on Sunday.
Those heading to Melbourne for the Grand Final parade on Friday can expect reasonable weather with a top of 18 degrees and a medium chance of a slight shower.
Then for the day itself on Saturday, an early morning low of 6 degrees will give way to a high of 17 in Bendigo.
But Bureau of Meteorology senior forecaster Tom Delamotte said while temperatures would be on the rise next week, a repeat of last Saturday’s September high of 32.8 degrees was still some way off.
“We are going to see temperatures gradually start to rise toward the middle of next week,” he said.
“At this stage it doesn’t appear that we’ll see temperatures reaching the high 20s in the Bendigo area during the outlook period.”
