Saturday was the 68th grand final played since 1950.
Through that time the biggest three-quarter-time margin a team had overcome to win the premiership was the 11 points Eaglehawk trailed Gisborne by in 2007, before the Hawks won by two.
On Saturday the Storm were 20 points behind Eaglehawk at three-quarter-time on a day where the temperature surpassed 31 degrees.
However, in a final quarter that will go down in BFNL folkore, the Storm kicked 9.1 to 0.3 to win by 32 points, 13.10 (88) to 7.14 (56).
