Strong winds are predicted to hit Bendigo this afternoon and evening as the majority of the state braces for a battering.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for damaging winds covering almost all of Victoria, including Bendigo.
Bendigo will be buffered by strong northerly winds reaching up to 50 kilometres per hour before a strong westerly winds take over in the afternoon.
The westerly change is expected to bring winds of up to 60 kilometres per hour, and even greater in elevated areas.
The stronger westerly winds will arrive in the mid-afternoon.
It could make for tricky conditions in the senior grand final at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
But spare a thought for the 95,000 Tigers fans at the MCG this evening, where strong winds and possible thunderstorms could impact during the match.
