DERRICK FILO (Castlemaine) – “I don’t think there will be much in it; maybe a goal or two either way.

“But I think Eaglehawk is probably going to be a tad fresher on the back of Strathfieldsaye having had three tough finals.”
BRAD SPEAR (Gisborne) – “My heart probably says Eaglehawk, but I think Strathfieldsaye will win.
“I think Strathfieldsaye probably has a little more class, and having watched them last week, they are cool under pressure and their ball-use was fantastic.
“In a pressure-type situation, they have been there before, and I think their ball-use will get them through.”
BERNIE HABERMAN (Golden Square) – “If you had asked me last Saturday night I would have said Eaglehawk, but as the week has progressed I’m probably leaning towards Strathfieldsaye.
“I think Strath are going to be really match-hardened, although, if it’s tight going into the last quarter Eaglehawk’s fresh legs might pay off in the end.”
SHAWN FILO (Kangaroo Flat) – “It’s going to be a fairly close game.
“I think Strathfieldsaye has a little bit more talent, but Eaglehawk has the better depth.
“In a close one I’ll go for the Borough to get up. I think their depth and their defence, which has been hard to score against all year, will get them over the line.”
LUKE BEATTIE (Kyneton) – “It’s shaping as one of the closest grand final contests that we’ve seen in recent years and I think there’s a really good case that can be made for either club winning on Saturday.
“I just get a sense that Eaglehawk will have a little more endeavour given they haven’t won a grand final for quite some time.”
SHANE SKONTRA (Maryborough) – “I’ve been on Eaglehawk most of the way through the season, but it looks like a genuine 50-50 on Saturday.
“But I’ll stick with Eaglehawk. They have been the best side for the year and having had the week off has given them the chance to really focus in on the job at hand. It might be just their time this year.”
WAYNE PRIMMER (Sandhurst) – “I’m probably leaning to Eaglehawk, mainly due to the breaks they’ve had through the finals.
“Last year I remember the Sandhurst players saying how big a difference it made to them having had those couple of weeks off in the finals, compared to the previous two years when they played all the way through in getting to the grand final.”
BRADY CHILDS (South Bendigo) – “I think Eaglehawk will win on Saturday.
“They have been the most consistent team throughout the year and deserve to be favourites going into Saturday.”
