Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
UPDATE 12.30pm: The man killed after his car crashed into a tree at Rushworth on Wednesday morning was aged in his 20s.
Further details about his identity will not be released until his family have been informed.
EARLIER: A man has died in a single-vehicle crash at Rushworth on Wednesday morning.
The car was travelling on the Rushworth-Nagambie Road when it ran into a tree about 7am.
The male driver, who is yet to be identified, was the sole occupant of the car.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
The man’s death brings the number of lives lost on the state’s roads so far this year to 181.
