They are offering a $5000 reward for the return of Sid.
Sid went missing two weeks from the Smith family live in Heritage Drive in Sedgwick.
Ms Smith said Sid was a very friendly two-year-old dog.
Before Ms Smith realised Sid was missing, she had seen him playing with his friend, a neighbour’s dog called Buddy.
“He was playing around with the neighbour’s dog and the had both gone for about 10 minutes when Buddy came back alone which was really odd,” she said.
“He has a tag on his collar with our name and number, and is microchipped but we haven’t had a phone call or anything.”
Ms Smith said the family had spent hours walking and driving around the area without luck.
“We have put it up on Facebook, been to the pound a few times and thought we should try the paper,” she said.
“We have heard a few stories about kelpies being sold at livestock auctions but people will soon realise he isn’t a work dog.
“Hopefully the reward can entice someone to bring him back.”
