THREE more premierships this year helped to confirm Sandhurst as the Bendigo league’s most dominant force on the netball club over the past eight seasons.

This year’s A grade, B grade and B reserve grand final triumphs lifted the Dragons’ tally of flags won over the past eight years to 12.

Throughout the past eight seasons the Dragons are not only the most successful netball club in terms of total premierships won, but they are also the only club to have won more than 500 home and away games across all their grades.

Across its A grade, A reserve, B grade, B reserve and under-17 teams – who have all won at least one flag since 2010 – Sandhurst has amassed 508 netball home and away wins.

The Dragons are one of what has been a “big three” in Bendigo netball over the past eight seasons, along with Golden Square and Kangaroo Flat.

Between the Dragons’ 12, Kangaroo Flat’s nine and Golden Square’s seven, the trio have combined for 28 of the 38 netball premierships won since 2010.

At least one of those “big three” netball clubs have played every A grade netball grand final since the competition began in 1991.
