Fifth place for Bendigo East in pool at Victorian Country Short Course Championships

BENDIGO East Swimming Club finished fifth overall at the recent Victorian Country Short Course Championships held in Wangaratta.

Cameron Jordan led the way in the medal tally for Bendigo East, winning gold in the 14-15 boys 100m individual medley, 200m individual medley and 100m breaststroke, as well as a silver in the 100m butterfly.

Jordan also won gold in the 200m breaststroke in a field of various ages.

Kate Jordan claimed gold in the 18-and-over 200m individual medley and 100m butterfly and bronze in the 100m individual medley and 100m breaststroke.

She also earned a silver medal in the women’s open 200m butterfly.

Layla Day achieved three silver medals in the 14-15 girls for 100m butterfly, 100m backstroke and 100m individual medley.

The team also had Hunter Boswell win silver in boys 11-and-under 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly.

In total 58 personal bests were achieved by Bendigo East’s team of 27 swimmers across the two days of competition.
