Country Cob Bakery in Kyneton has won first and second place in the apprentice category of the Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph on Saturday.
Ryan Khun took out first place for his slice, with Lina Hut not far behind in second for her baked treat.
Country Cob Bakery owner Chan Khun said the secret to a top vanilla slice was a crunchy pastry, smooth and creamy custard, and a slice that was not too thick.
Mr Khun said the bakery was always trying to improve and maintain the quality of its products, so they were very happy to have been recognised.
The wins are more notches in the belt of the bakery, which earlier this year took home several awards for its pies at the Australia’s Best Pie Competition.
The bakery also took home third place in the apprentice category at last year’s vanilla slice competition.
