Police and ambulance were called to an address on Burke Street just before 7.30pm with reports a man had suffered a wound to his leg.
A spokesperson for Victoria Police said the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
“It is believed a 25-year-old Maryborough man was assaulted by two men, aged in their 20s, with an edged weapon,” he said.
“The two men were arrested at the scene and are assisting police with their enquiries.
“All parties are believed to be known to each other and the investigation is ongoing.”
