The Storm put on a show in their first home game under lights, thrashing South Bendigo by 115 points.
In an ominous sign for the rest of the BFNL top five, the Storm won 26.19 (175) to 9.6 (60).
After a mid-season form slump, the Storm are back to their ruthless best.
They hunted the Bloods in numbers and moved the ball superbly at times as they posted their fifth score of 150 points or more in succession.
The Storm are the first team since Gisborne in rounds four to eight of 2006 to kick more than 150 points in five-straight matches.
While the Storm’s favourite son Lachlan Sharp bagged nine goals to take his season tally to 113, it was the goal kicking prowess of the club’s midfielders that was most impressive.
Matt Harvey (four), Kallen Geary (two), Josh Formosa (two), Jake Moorhead (two) and Kellan Smith (one) all hit the scoreboard.
The undermanned Bloods battled hard all night.
Veteran Brad Wright kicked six of his side’s nine goals, but it was the form of teenagers Will Keck and Braydan Torpey that would have warmed the hearts of Bloods fans.
Wearing number 19 – the same number worn by his father, Mark, at the Bloods – Keck showed plenty through the midfield.
Torpey has plenty of class, and tricks, particularly around goals.
The Bloods will be keen to finish their season on a high note when they play Kangaroo Flat in the final round.
