UPDATE, 12:30pm: Flecks of snow are falling at the summit of Mount Macedon, albeit intermittently.
Top of the Range owner Luke Chapman said there had been light snow since about 8am.
But it wasn’t settling on the ground, because it had also been raining.
With the weather forecast for Monday looking particularly chilly, he was hopeful of a more stunning scene in the coming days.
EARLIER: Central Victoria is set for some chilly weather over the next four days with snow forecast south of Bendigo.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting snow falls today and tomorrow in the Castlemaine, Kyneton and Gisborne forecast areas, with it forecast to reach places above 600 metres.
Areas above 1000 metres are also forecast to see snow fall on Monday.
The Macedon Ranges Weather Facebook page has heard reports of snow already falling at Trentham and Mount Macedon.
Temperatures will also plummet across the region, with Kyneton’s forecast failing to reach double digits until Sunday; and Castlemaine and Gisborne’s maximum temperatures hovering around 10 and 11 degrees for the next three days.
In Bendigo, people can expect a top temperature of 12 degrees for the next four days, with the forecast low dropping to -2 on Sunday.
