Menindee has had two starts over the 500m trip at Bendigo and has posted a smart 28.25 victory, and from box one he should roll to the front early and with his brilliant mid-race pace should set up a winning break by the halfway mark.
Notable strong finishers General Romulus, Game Spirit and Three Scoops will fight out the minor prize, but Menindee will be anchor in most punters quaddie investments.
Promising chaser Aston Frankel and proven talent Matt Machine look set for a mouth-watering clash in the Hip Pocket Bendigo mixed grade over 425m.
Both have drawn awkwardly in boxes four and five and both are notable slow beginners.
However, they are class acts capable of carving out blistering times.
Matt Machine has won two from three at Bendigo with a best of 23.67, while the youngster Aston Frankel clocked 23.74 in his Bendigo win.
It will be a case of who gets the clearest run down the back straight as to who will secure the win, but either way it should be an exciting race.
