The eight players – Mac Hilson (under-12s), Edward Harrison, Kaidyn Tucker (under-13s), Darcy McRostie, Ruben White, Patrick Mathers, William Keating and Aziz Elkhazzari (under-14s) – have been selected in Football Federation Victoria’s Regional Boys Representative Squad.
During the eight-day tour starting next week the side will be playing against Japanese academy teams.
“This is a great opportunity for the boys and I believe this will help us embark on our journey in soccer and give us a lot of experience and culture that we will all enjoy,” William said this week.
The eight players earned their berths in the FFV squad following selection trials in Melbourne.
“This is exactly what the club is all about – youth development,” Bendigo City FC president Robyn Williams said.
“The opportunities the players are now enjoying is testament to the boys, support of their team-mates, coaches and technical director Freddie Seccombe.”
