Between 2004 and 2016 the Bulldogs played in all 13 Loddon Valley league senior finals series, but were unable to break through for that elusive premiership they have been chasing since 1950.
However, the Bulldogs’ run of consecutive finals appearances ended last Sunday when a 21-point loss to Calivil United in a must-win game consigned Pyramid Hill to finishing sixth.
With Pyramid Hill’s streak over, Golden Square is now the club with the region’s most-consecutive finals appearances that stretches back to 2005, beginning with a 45-point elimination final loss to South Bendigo in a 42-goal shoot-out.
And they will continue their run into a 13th season this year, with the Bulldogs guaranteed another finals berth with three rounds remaining.
