Girton Grammar School’s Musical Showcase Extravaganza will see more than 600 students take to the stage for vocal and instrumental performances.
Headmaster Matthew Maruff said in the past 10 years the school had seen extraordinary growth in music.
“Ten years ago, approximately 175 music lessons were conducted in the school every week,” he said.
“Now, each week approximately 600 lessons of every kind are conducted across the junior and senior schools.
“We also invite working professional musicians regularly to the school to conduct workshops with our students so that they can learn first-hand all about playing music at an elite level.”
Senior students will perform on Tuesday night from 6.30pm ahead of the junior students on Wednesday night at 6.30pm.
Mr Maruff said the standard of the students was exceptional.
