Bendigo mayor Margaret O’Rourke launched the Write on the Fringe Festival at the Bendigo Library last night.
The event celebrates Bendigo writers, artists and creatives.
Several exhibitions were launched on Friday night.
Among them were Cartel’s Artisan Journal, a publication showcasing the work of visual artists and Bendigo boutique bindery SB Libris; and Co.Lab 2017, a collection of works by more than 40 writers and visual artists, who worked in pairs to create the finished pieces.

Other exhibitions include Fridge Magnets by Julie Andrews, and Exploring the Campaspe, which comprises of works made during a series of creative workshops.
Write on the Fringe concludes with two action-packed days featuring speakers, performances and workshops.
The festival runs until August 12 and is an initiative of the City of Greater Bendigo’s Capital Community Connect, Goldfields Library Corporation and BendArts.
