The SSA Under-15 Girls National Football Championships were played in Western Australia, with Victoria clinching the prize with a commanding 6.8 (44) to 0.0 (0) win over New South Wales in the grand final played at Gosnells Oval.
The win capped a dominant tournament for Victoria, which in five games didn’t concede a goal, while the side won by margins of 98, 82, 12, 40 and 44 points.
“We only had four training sessions together before we went, but we just clicked, which was great,” Campbell said this week.
“I didn’t know what to expect and it took me a little while to be myself getting used to new people, but I formed some good friendships and to keep New South Wales scoreless in the grand final was incredible.”
Campbell, 14 and in Year 9 at BSE, plays with the Kyneton Youth Girls team in the Bendigo Junior Football League.
