Thieves cut through a fence to gain access to the property before stealing the Ford Ranger ute and driving back through the hole in the fence. The car’s registration is AKK 576.
Owner Harley Kean believed the theft happened at about 8pm on Monday night.
“We are on a little property that is about 150 metres from road,” he said.
“They have come into the property, cut the fence and taken the ute. I didn’t notice it was gone until about 5.30 this morning when I went to go to work.
“Initially I had to have a think because sometimes I leave it somewhere else on the farm. When I realised what had happened I was shocked.”
Mr Kean, who runs a chicken farm that produces free-range eggs, is offering a $3000 reward for any information that helps get his $60,000 ute back.
Bendigo Police are also investigating the matter.
“We just have to wait and see if it turns up now,” Mr Kean said.
Anyone with information should phone Bendigo police on 5448 1300 or Mr Kean on 0409 932 061.
