A cyclist has been transported to hospital after he was rear-ended by a motorist whose vision was obscured by the sun.

Bendigo police Senior Constable Paul Lethlean said the male, 35, was cycling northbound on Peg Leg Road, Eaglehawk, around 5.20pm when he was rear-ended and thrown onto the bonnet of the car near the intersection of Caldwells Road.
Paramedics attended the scene and transported the man, who was complaining of hip pain, to hospital.
Police and a CFA unit helped direct traffic on Peg Leg Road for 40 minutes after the incident.
Senior Constable Lethlean urged drivers to take care with the setting sun.
