The final score flattered Tatura, who had trailed 6-2 before scoring two goals in the final five minutes to add some respectability to the scoreboard.
Golden City played well to earn a point against Shepparton in Shepparton.
The Rams took the lead in the second minute when Zac Gilmour scored, but a 53rd minute goal from Shepparton skipper Hayden Dealy levelled the scores at 1-1.
It was a much stronger defensive effort by the Rams after they lost 5-3 to Shepparton earlier in the season.
A 7-2 win over Colts United kept Shepparton United in touch with Eaglehawk and Shepparton South.
Shepparton United scored twice in the first eight minutes before Colts responded strongly with quick goals to Ben Yarwood and Josh Raeburn.
Colts’ joy was shortlived as United scored two goals in three minutes to grab a 4-2 lead at the break.
Three second-half goals for the home side completed the impressive victory.
