Bendigo City FC once again showed promise, but still walked away with no points from its NPL2 west conference clash with Melbourne Victory on Saturday.

The home side was up and about when it grabbed the lead in the ninth minute thanks to a goal from Abraham Lokiru.
Melbourne Victory gradually took over in the middle of the park and its possession domination was eventually rewarded when Nicholas Sette found the back of the net.
The vistors took the lead for good in the 37th minute when Callum Goulding fired home.
Any hopes Bendigo had of getting back into the game were put to bed midway through the second half.
Two goals in as many minutes to Melbourne Victory saw the visitors take a commanding 4-1 lead.
They added a fifth goal in the 85th minute before Bendigo captain Kevin Walker scored a consolation goal in the 90th minute.
Bendigo City is away to Ballarat City this Saturday night.
Meanwhile, the Bendigo City FC under-16s enjoyed success on home soil on Saturday.
The under-16s defeated Moreland 3-0, with Lewis Merriman scoring two goals and Tom Kay one.
The under-18s lost 9-1, the under-15s went down 5-1, the under-14s suffered a 6-1 loss and the under-13s lost 8-0.
