With Bendigo ahead 60-59 with four seconds on the clock after Bianca Dufelmeier made two free throws, Bonds drove to the basket and was fouled by the Lady Braves’ Chante Black.
Bonds sunk both free throws to give the Rush a 61-60 victory after Ballarat thwarted Black’s last-ditch game-winning attempt.
The Lady Braves – now 13-7 – rallied in the second half after trailing 39-26 at the main break on Saturday.
The visiting Rush took control of the game in the second quarter whey they outscored Bendigo 21-10.
The Lady Braves tightened the screws in the second half, holding Ballarat to just 22 points, but the second term proved Bendigo’s undoing.
Carlie Smith (15 points, seven rebounds) and Jane Chalmers (seven points, nine rebounds, six assists) were Bendigo’s best.
