The vehicle, a brown Ford Territory, was stolen from a Victoria Street home in Carisbrook sometime between 8am Friday and 4.30am on Saturday.
It was then found on fire in the Melbourne suburb of Mill Park this morning.
It is the second stolen car to have turned up on fire today, after a BMW stolen in Eddington was found on fire in Kangaroo Flat bushland.
Detective Senior Constable Heath Barker said no one was at home when the Territory was stolen. He asked anyone with information to call Maryborough police on 5460 3300, Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
