Emergency services were called to the scene after 1pm near the intersection of Mitchell and McLaren streets.
Police said a blue Mazda sedan was attempting to turn out of McLaren Street when it collided with a light blue Toyota travelling on Mitchell Street.
Leading Senior Constable Brian Smith said the driver of the Mazda, a 25-year-old man, told police he didn’t see the Toyota, as it was driving behind two four-wheel-drives that were merging lanes.
No one was injured in the crash, but the Toyota ended up hitting the railing on the Mitchell Street bridge crossing the railway lines.
Leading Senior Constable Smith said the Bendigo driver of the Mazda would be issued a penalty notice.
It is the second crash Bendigo police have been called to today, with a collision in Marong earlier.
Leading Senior Constable Smith urged drivers to take care.
“Just don’t assume – make sure everything is clear before you go,” he said.
Both cars were towed from the scene.
