Emergency services were called to the scene at the intersection of the Calder Highway and the Calder Alternative Highway at 9.45am when two cars collided.
Leading Senior Constable Brian Smith said the crash occurred when a couple travelling east on the Calder attempted to turn right onto the alternative highway but failed to giveway to an oncoming car.
The silver Mitsubishi sedan collided with a blue Holden station wagon, which was heading away from Bendigo on the Calder.
Leading Senior Constable Smith said the 58-year-old female driver from the sedan would be issued a penalty notice for failing to give way.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
