Temperatures have dropped to as low as -3.5 degrees this morning as the region wakes to icy conditions.
The mercury dropped to -2.1 in Bendigo at 4.30am, but felt like -5.5 degrees. By 8.30am, the temperature had risen to 0.7 degrees with an apparent temperature of -2.4.
In Redesdale, the overnight low hit -3.5 degrees at 7.30am with an apparent temperature of -7.1 degrees. By 8.30am it had risen to 0.5 degrees but felt like -2.2 degrees.
The black ice warnings have been activated on the Calder, near Woodend, and heavy fog has also been reported on the McIvor Highway at Axedale.
Bendigo is headed for a top of 13 degrees, with mostly sunny conditions after the frost clears. Expect a 20 per cent chance of a shower late in the afternoon or evening.
Redesdale, Maryborough and Castlemaine are headed for a top of 12, Echuca 14, and Kyneton 10.
