The additional 151 extra services across the state’s rail network will take the total number of regional services added this year to 231, 61 more than was announced in the 2016-17 state budget.
Passengers are also set to benefit from the Victorian and federal government’s $1.6 billion Regional Rail Revival, which will deliver more train services and better rail infrastructure for regional Victorians.
The announcement follows confirmation two railway crossings in White Hills will be upgraded and fitted with boom gates by the end of the year.
Passengers will be able to pick up printed timetables from stations and plan their trip using the Plan a Journey tool on the V-Line website from Thursday 27 July, with the timings of coaches and buses that connect with trains to be adjusted accordingly.

Ms Allan said the new services were part of the government’s aim to deliver “the services and infrastructure regional Victoria needs as it grows”.
“We are providing more choice for regional people who want to head to the footy, see a show or visit loved ones – whether that be in Melbourne or across the state,” she said.
