Acting Sergeant Shane Bourke said one would also be charged in relation to the assault of a police member at the scene.
The officer sustained minor injuries.
UPDATE, 9pm: Police have arrested three teenage boys following two incidents in the Hargreaves Mall this evening.
Police were called to the incidents shortly after 6.15pm.
One teen has been arrested following an assault on a 50-year-old man.
The man has been transported to hospital for observation.
Two other teens have been arrested following a theft of alcohol from a nearby liquor store.
All three are currently being interviewed by police.
EARLIER: EMERGENCY services are on scene in the CBD after a man was believed to have been assaulted by a group of youths.
Paramedics have taken someone to hospital as police interview witnesses in Hargreaves Street, between Mitchell Street and Edward Street.
A witness said he was in Noodle Box and saw another man leave the food premises. When the witness left the shop, the man he saw leave before him had been assaulted in the street.
Police have arrested two people on the corner of Lyttleton Terrace and Mitchell Street.
