EPSOM is continuing to apply the pressure to top side Shepparton United in the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League women's championship.
The Scorpions defeated Shepparton South 2-nil at McEwen Reserve to give them their 10th win from 11 matches.
Epsom trails Shepparton United (11-1) by three points on the championship ladder, but has a game in hand.
The pair will meet in round 17 on August 6, in what will be a clash between the league's top defence (Shepparton) and most potent offence (Epsom).
The Scorpions wasted little time in stamping their authority on Sunday's contest, with Caitlin Green opening the scoring in the 13th minute.
They went ahead 2-0 early in the second half, with Tara Thomas slotting her 22nd goal of the season to give the Scorpions a game-winning 2-nil break.
A clash against bottom side Swan Hill is next for the Scorpions.
Meanwhile, Strathdale young gun Ellie Vlaeminck extended her lead at the top of the goal scorers ladder with a double against Moama-Echuca.
But it was to no avail as the Blues went down to the Border Raiders 3-2.
Brittany and Natalie Sands and Courtney Ladgrove each scored once for the Border Raiders, who trailed 2-0 until the 73rd minute.
Their three goals came within a 10-minute interval.
Skipper Jasmine Wright, Silver Bell Morris and Jennifer Suzuki each scored doubles as Golden City won only its second game of the season.
The Rams defeated Colts United 7-0, with Kayla Nichols adding her name to the goal scorers' list.
All seven of the Rams goals came after the 43rd minute.
Shepparton United maintained its position at the head of the table with a 4-0 win over Eaglehawk.
United has conceded just four goals all season and was again able to keep the opposition scoreless.
Megan McFarland opened the scoring for United in the 37th minute.
Sophie Papalia made it 2-0 in the 62nd minute before Taylor Zito and Sarah Loverso completed a 4-0 result.
Loverso now has 13 goals for the season to be fifth on the table behind Vlaeminck (26), Thomas (22), Colts United's Rebecca Berry (20) and Epsom's Elizabeth Watkins (14).
In next week's matches, Moama-Echuca hosts Eaglehawk, Colts United travels to Shepparton United and Spring Gully United and Strathdale clash at Stanley Avenue.
