The Kangaroo Flat Fun Day was organised to give families an affordable and fun way to spend an afternoon.
Kangaroo Flat Fun Day committee member Kim Saddlier said the event was something the community wanted to do each year.
“We organised a committee to secure a community grant for it,” she said.
“There were a lot of great sponsors help out. We wanted to promote Kangaroo Flat as a great place to live, work and play.”
Families were able to enjoy a sausage sizzle put on by the Kangaroo Flat Rotary as well as story time with the Goldfields Library and a mobile play zone, face-painting, a DJ and a huge jumping castle.
“In winter time it is hard to find things to do. It is really important that this is a free event because it can be expensive to find worthwhile family entertainment (in school holidays),” Ms Saddlier said.
“The families in and around Kangaroo Flat want cost-effective events that are fun. I think we ticked all the boxes for a lot of families.”
