The Grasshoppers retained their unbeaten status with a 57-33 victory, their second this season over the Hawks.
It was a costly loss for Huntly, which slipped from third to fifth position following back-to-back defeats.
The Hawks’ place in third was claimed by Mount Pleasant, which defeated Elmore 58-18 at Toolleen.
An intriguing battle for third to fifth positions became even hotter, with Gunbower-Leitchville (fourth) and Lockington-Bamawm United (sixth) joining Mount Pleasant and Huntly on seven wins.
The Bombers returned to form with a 61-36 win over Heathcote, while the in-form Cats defeated North Bendigo 61-38.
Since a narrow defeat to Mount Pleasant on June 17, Lockington-Bamawm United has won four straight games.
