The exhibition – Important Australian Painting and Works on Paper – opened on Saturday and runs until September in the Hargreaves Street art space.
“There has been a lot of interest in what we’ve got,” Gallery 369 owner Peter Valentine said.
Mr Valentine said the exhibition was a change from Gallery 369 showing contemporary artists.
“There are some quite important pieces in the exhibition,” he said.
“We have had a lot of contemporary artists but are changing it around to see what sort of response we get.”
Mr Valentine said a 1906 Turner painting is featured along with some 200-year-old etchings.
Australian “outback artist” Pro Hart has two original oil works featured in the show.
“There are two really nice examples of (Pro Hart’s) work including the Thirst Clouds at Narromine,” Mr Valentine said.
“Turner’s painting from 1906 is quite valuable and we have had it aside for a little while along with some works from private collections.”
Important Australian Painting and Works on Paper is at Gallery 369 in Hargreaves Street until September 16.
