A DOMINANT Eaglehawk has produced another powerful performance in Bendigo Amateur Soccer League men's championship action.
The top of the ladder Hawks defeated Golden City 9-nil in Sunday's indigenous round clash at Truscott Reserve.
Jan Kerr led the way for the Hawks with a hat-trick of goals, while the competition's leading goal scorer Greg Thomas contributed a double to take his season tally to 24.
In an even team performance, the Hawks got singles from Chris Hopley, Nathan Hamblin, Joshua Hamblin and Jesse Parker.
With another three points safe in its keeping, Eaglehawk maintains a four point lead on the championship ladder, ahead of nearest rival Shepparton South.
The Hawks host third-placed Shepparton United next week at Truscott Reserve.
Shepparton South overtook United in second place after winning their crosstown battle at Vilbert Reserve.
A pair of goals to Joel Aitken in the 50th and 54th minutes set South on the path to victory.
Late goals to Giacomo Alvisi and Donny Stojanovski put the game back on level terms, before Joel Patafio slotted the winner in stoppage time.
The win moved South to 26 points, one ahead of Shepparton United.
Both have crucial matches next weekend, with South preparing for battle against an in-form Epsom.
The Scorpions moved into fourth place courtesy of a 5-1 win over a gritty Tatura.
They did not waste much time asserting their control over the contest with teenager Cooper Arkinstall slotting the first of two great goals in the 15th minute.
Alexander Caldow made it two-nil with a goal 37th minute, with James Crawley making it 3-nil early in the second half.
A goal in the 60th minute from Tariq Nikoi-Kotey reduced the margin to 3-1 for Tatura.
But the Scorpions were not done. Arkinstall made it 4-1 with his clever goal in the 80th minute, before Will Vallely put the lid on a classy win with a goal in stoppage time.
It was a great result for the Scorpions, who had only four players over 21 in their starting line-up.
At Central Park, Shepparton United and Strathdale played out a 1-all draw.
The Blues struck first through Jackson Clayton in the 37th minute.
It took until the 77th minute for Roven Shaholli to score the equaliser for United, who have slipped to third place.
At Moama, a hat-trick to Joshua Baum helped Spring Gully United to a 5-nil win over Moama-Echuca Border Raiders.
Baum scored in the sixth and 51st minutes before adding another in stoppage time.
The Reds tally was boosted by goals to Samuel Nanere and Jonathan Prince, giving them their fourth win for the season.
Meanwhile, in youth championship games, Epsom defeated Tatura 10-0, with Riley Alcock, Liam Christensen and Daniel Bell each kicking two goals, Moama-Echuca Border Raiders and Spring Gully United drew 1-all, and Strathdale defeated Shepparton United 4-3.
Ryan Clegg scored a hat-trick for the Blues, while Aliagha Alizada finished with a double for Shepparton United.
