SEA Lake Nandaly Tigers grinded out a 16-point victory over Birchip-Watchem on Saturday in a North Central league game where goals were at a premium.

Just 14 were kicked for the match – all across the first three quarters – as the Tigers won 8.10 (58) to 6.6 (42) at Birchip.
The defeat cost the Bulls second position on the ladder as they fell to fourth and are now just percentage clear of the fifth-placed Tigers, each with 6-4 records.
The Tigers led at every change, including by 16 points at three-quarter-time, which became the final margin as both sides could must just three behinds apiece in the final term.
The Tigers’ standout was gun ruckman Ryan O’Sullivan, who has been named among his team’s best players in all 10 games so far.
Jason Collins also played well, while Brad Collins kicked three goals, including two in the first term.
The Bulls were best served by the in-form Charlie Hallam (two goals), who was their best player for the fifth time in their past six games, and Nathan Gordon.

The Demons’ first quarter blitz included Andrew Mead-Harding kicking three goals on his way to a match-high haul of six.
Superstar Corey Jones slotted five as the league’s leading goalkicker took his season tally to 51, with he and Mead-Harding named best for the flag favourites.
The pair were among 12 goalkickers for the Demons.
Key forward Nick Coghlan kicked four of the Saints’ eight goals. Ben Batters and Daniel London (two goals) were St Arnaud’s best players.
• The in-form Donald also got off to a flying start against Charlton as it won its fifth game in a row.
The Royals slammed on 8.3 to 0.3 in the opening quarter to lead by 48 points at the first break.
However, the Royals only outscored the Navies by a further 14 points over the remainder of the game as they won by 62 – 16.14 (110) to 7.6 (48) at home.
Seamus Young and Brody Haddow kicked two goals each in the first quarter blitz from the Royals, whose score of 110 was their highest of the season.
Haddow finished with three goals for the Royals, while Young didn’t add to his tally after quarter-time.
Benjamin Roberts and Anthony Raso (two goals) were named best for the Royals.
Charlton’s better players were led by Dean McKay and Lachlan Cunningham (two goals).
• Boort moved back into second position after defeating Wedderburn by 30 points.
The Redbacks started well to lead by 12 points, 4.1 to 2.1, at quarter-time.
However, the Magpies kicked 11 goals to four over the last three quarters to prevail 13.11 (89) to 8.11 (59).
Star ruckman and reigning Feeny medallist James Orr led the way for the Magpies to be their best player, while Cameron Chalmers (four goals) was also pivotal.
Marc Reiffel was Wedderburn’s only multiple goalkicker with three.
Adam Postle was best for the Redbacks, who for the ninth game in a row scored more behinds than goals.
