The year 12 student endured her close shave yesterday with plenty of schoolmates watching in support.
The school’s student representative council help raise funds for the cause by holding a casual dress day that saw people donate a gold coin to dress comfortably and coem to school with a a “crazy hair-do”.
World’s Greatest Shave is one of Australia’s biggest fundraisers and raises money for the Leukemia Foundation. So far more than $16 million has been raised in 2017.
As well as shaving heads, participants have also shave beards or chests.
Money raised is used to fund life-saving research and provide free, emotional and practical support like accommodation for regional families who need to move to the city for treatment.
