The Boiz took on reigning premier Golden Square in the grand final and looked in trouble when Square claimed the first set.
However, The Boiz bounced back strongly though Paddy Haythorne and Phil Keech and reeled off three sets in a row to win 20-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-19.
In the women’s final, Golden Square overcame a slow start to defeat The Chikigh 20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-14. Kate Eason and Casey Dutton-Roberts were best for Square, while Erin Molenaar starred for The Chikigh.
The men’s division two final was one-sideed, with Golden Square Hawks proving too strong for Golden Square Blue 25-11, 25-15, 25-16. The attacking ability of youngsters Lachie Parkinson and Steve Matthews dominated for the Hawks side, with Leigh Gordon providing stability in the back court. The Blue side were well served by Adrian Pearson and Barry Hogan.
In the junior finals, BSE Dragons proved too strong for Crusoe Crusaders in the 15 boys competition. Lewis Roberts and Will Mandersloot led the BSE side to a three sets to one win.
In the 17 girls match, defending champions BSE Dragons were defeated three sets to one by Girton Diamonds. The Girton side was well served by Prue Wilkinson and Lauren Cox.
Crusoe Crusaders player Kilby Todd was the runaway winner of the MVP award in the 17 girls division, while the 15 boys MVP was BSE Dragons Green player Tom Waterson.
The Girton Stars took out the 15 girls premiership 3 sets to nil over the Rebels. Girton Stars also sported the division’s MVP Ellex Skinner.
The mixed division final was won by Golden Square Wilsons over the Fill Ins.
