The Blues are fourth on the ladder, two wins shy of third-placed Huntly, but victories over top-five opposition have proven elusive this season.
Their five losses have all come against top five opponents - two of them (against Leitchville-Gunbower and Huntly) by a mere two goals.
The Blues will get their chance to rectify that when they face Leitchville-Gunbower this Saturday.
Pinner said her players were looking forward to getting a second crack at the three teams placed in the five which they had not yet played, starting with the Bombers.
"(Leitchville-Gunbower) are a very strong defensive team, especially with (coach) Jodie Lake in the team," she said.
"The last time we played their goalers were very accurate.
"We're definitely looking for a win - we certainly think we've got it in us - but it will come down to putting four consistent quarters together and working as a team."
A win over the Bombers would put a four point buffer between the Blues and their rivals and go a long way to securing their first finals berth since 2014.
While the Blues need to make up two wins on the high-flying Hawks, Pinner believed a top three spot was a more than realistic goal for her side.
"To get there we are going to have to beat some of those sides above us, which we have Leitchy this week and Huntly not too far away either," she said.
"Our goal would be to have some real strong matches against them."
The Blues have rivalled Huntly for the tag of the the league's most improved side this season.
A fruitful off-season recruiting drive that yielded a new coach, along with Pinner's former Golden Square teammates Chantal O'Brien and Clare Hope, and the returning Sophie O'Shannessy, has seen the Blues match last season's win total (five) with six rounds still to play.
The Blues have also been thrilled with the progress of first year A-grade player Charlotte Webb.
But they have not been without their struggles on the player-front, losing shooter Megan Baird to injury in an early season clash against Colbinabbin.
One team the Blues will not have to meet again on the road to the finals is the reigning premiers, after a 20-goal loss last week.
The Blues remain one of only two teams to keep their losing margin to the undefeated Grasshoppers under 10 goals, following a seven goal loss in their earlier season contest at Colbinabbin.
Pinner had little hesitation in declaring a dynamic Grasshoppers as they team to beat in 2017.
"They are very athletic and strong all over the court," she said.
"We didn't have our best day on Saturday, but I feel like the 20 goals didn't reflect how tough the game was - the scoreboard made it worse than what it was.
"We were down by 10 at quarter time, which wasn't ideal."
"But they are a very good side and I do think they are still the team to beat."
