Douglas and Paul Bennett fought out a great finish on the Mandurang course.
They were evenly matched for most of the race on the steep hills.
It was shoulder-to-shoulder until the last kilometre where Douglas surged clear to win the Drechsler family-sponsored classic by 14 seconds from Bennett.
Douglas improved on her previous 5km time along the much flatter course at Wellsford by an impressive 23 seconds.
Ryan Shelton was third in Sunday’s race from Jacob Nolan and Greg Hilson.
Honours in the open division went to Shelton from Adam Parker and Ben Goode. Fastest time honours again went to Nolan, 17.38, ahead of Parker and Goode.
The women’s category was won by Douglas from Carol Stewart and Rhonda Schultz.
In the 1km junior race, Jack Parker matched the feat of his brother, Baxter in racing to victory this season. Runner-up was Freya White from Harper-Lee Basten.
